Makeup Soulmate of the Month: August 2017

Hi! I’m starting a new series on my blog called “Makeup Soulmate of the Month” and it will feature one (maybe two) product that I’m loving. Also, most of the time it will include a “Makeup Breakup” which is an ode to a product I dislike or hate this month.

Makeup Soulmate: Sonia Kashuk – Face Palette Pretty Cheeky

I picked this up at my local Target earlier in the month and I’m so glad I did! The palette has 3 shades It’s perfect for traveling, it has a mirror and the case is very sturdy, did I mention the packaging is beautiful?! It is normally priced for $19.99, I got it on sale for $9.99. The bronzer and blush are perfect for fair/light skin tones and the highlighter is great for any skin tone. This is a limited edition product so I recommend picking it up before it’s too late.

The bronzer is a matte shade, not at all orange. It’s extremely buildable and you don’t have to worry about picking up too much product.

The highlighter is beautiful on the skin. It’s a dewy champagne finish. Like the bronzer, it’s very buildable. Not a blinding metallic/reflective highlighter.

I haven’t used the blush a lot, but the times that I have it has been a gorgeous peachy shade.

Overall I really recommend picking this palette up if you have fair-medium skin. I’ve tried a few Sonia Kashuk palettes and have loved them all.  Her products are exclusive to Target and go on sale often.

Makeup Breakup: Clinique – Travel-Size High Impact Mascara + Lash Building Primer

I received this in August’s Sephora Play! and I just hate it. If you want limp clumpy lashes, this is for you. Like I mentioned, all it did for my lashes was clump them and make them limp. It was also really flakey. This is probably the worst mascara I’ve tried so far….

What products have you been loving or hating this month? Let me know in the comments 🙂

Note: These are just my opinions, don’t let them stop you from trying any product for yourself! You may love it when I hate it, vice versa.
