Halloween 2017: Half Fairy Makeup Tutorial

Hi, guys! Welcome to day four of my Halloween special. I still don’t have a name for it but oh well. Today I wanted to do a tutorial on this “half fairy” look. I don’t really have a proper title for it but I absolutely love it! You could do full glam if you wanted to, I just did one side natural full coverage and the other one full glam.

Step one: Apply foundation and concealer. When doing the half, I did half normal coverage and half full glam. Below is a picture of concealer placement for reference.

Step two: Set it all. I baked with some loose powder, let that set for about 10 minutes then brushed it away with a pressed powder. I also did my eyebrows. Only the glam side I used two eyebrow pencils and a gel, on the other side I used the lighter brow pencil only. Now on to the glam side. I did my eye, which was VERY similar to Collab/Tutorial: Olivia Culpo Golden Globes 2017 but I used blue instead and added falsies. I also highlighted, bronzed, contoured, and added blush.

Step three: Now comes the fun part! Face painting. I basically wanted to go for a tree and I started drawing curvy lines to act as branches. See picture below for reference. I also took it down to the neck of the glam side, like a tree stump. Note: I did this after setting my foundation and concealer, typically it’s a “no-no” to put cream over powder but it came out fine for me, I had no issues. If you’re concerned about it, don’t set it.

Step four: Add highlight and depth. I mixed yellow face paint with brown face paint on a palette and worked it in where a natural “highlight” would occur. I also added more branches.

Step five: Add leaves. What’s a tree without leaves? I used green face paint with a bit of brown mixed in for a better color. Highlighted with some white and yellow. Add blue lipstick and a wig (optional) to finish.

Lipstick: I used the cream side of Cobalt Crystal. I do not recommend doing this, I just did it because I thought it looked good and didn’t have another shiny blue lipstick. It probably isn’t safe and altogether much easier to just buy a blue lipstick, so do as I say not as I do haha.

Face paint: iMagic Flash Palette. I used the shades Brown, White, Yellow and Green. I’m not linking because I don’t recommend this palette, you’re much better off buying face paint from a company like Ben Nye.

Wig:Blue Shag Wig.

What do you think of this look? What are you doing for Halloween?
