Blogmas: Play! by Sephora – November 2017 Follow Up Review

Hi, guys! Welcome back to Blogmas! I “unboxed” my Play! by Sephora a few weeks ago and it’s time for my follow up review. I have to say, I am really really happy with Novembers box! I’m really excited for Decembers box, I have a good feeling about it and it should be here in a week or so.

Origins – Clear Improvement® Active Charcoal Mask to Clear Pores $27.00 USD for 3.4oz/100 mL

“What it is:
An ultra-purifying mask to deep clean and visibly reduce pores.

Solutions for:
– Dullness and uneven texture
– Oiliness
– Pores”

I LOVE THIS MASK SO MUCH. I feel like after using this my face is deeply cleaned and I have noticed a difference in dullness and my pores. This mask is absolutely lovely. It’s easy to apply, easy to remove, and it just feels really nice to use. I’ve used it twice a week since receiving it and I don’t have anything bad to say honestly. It is so much better than October’s facial scrub! You do have to follow the instructions to a T, if you don’t open your pores with warm water this doesn’t do much. I will definitely repurchase this. It is on the expensive side, but considering it will probably last you a long time and it doesn’t expire for 36 months, I think it’s well worth the price.

Caudalie – Vinosource S.O.S Thirst Quenching Serum $49.00 USD for 1oz/30 mL

“What it is:
An oil-free serum that captures and continually diffuses water within the skin to restore its moisture balance and leave skin feeling soft and supple.

Solutions for:
– Dryness
– Dullness and uneven texture
– Uneven skin tone

If you want to know more…
This high potency serum will save dehydrated, dull skin. Powered by Caudalie’s exclusive organic grape water, the formula immediately reactivates the skin’s ability to retain moisture over time. Rich in Caudalie’s patented grape-seed polyphenols which provide antioxidant protection against UV rays and free radicals—a main cause of wrinkles—it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin. It’s also the ideal base for a moisturizer, allowing quick penetration to leave skin instantly refreshed, hydrated, and comfortably soft.”

I like it, I don’t love it. I think this adds a lot of hydration to the skin, but I’ve also recently tried a serum/moisturizer that does the same thing and it is less expensive. Speaking of expensive, I think this is overpriced. If you’ve had your eyes on this I would go for the Vinosource moisturizer, which is one of my holy grails!

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with this, I just think it’s overpriced and I like other serums better. Because of that I won’t repurchase, but I will enjoy it will I have it!

Moroccanoil – Moroccanoil Treatment $34.00 USD for 1.7oz/ 50 mL

“What it is:
A versatile, argan oil-infused hair styler in a light formulation that can be used for conditioning, styling, and finishing.

Key Benefits:
– Detangles, speeds up blow-drying time, and boosts shine
– Improves manageability and controls frizz and flyaways
– Infused with antioxidant-rich argan oil and vitamin-rich linseed (flax) seed extract to help strengthen”

This is honestly one of the best oils I’ve tried. I’ve been using it while my hair is damp and my curls love it! I have a problem with my hair wanting to curl at the root, not really sure why but anyway this really helps that and I overall it just makes my hair look amazing! I think it’s expensive but worth it.

Marc Jacobs Beauty – Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara $26.00 USD for 0.32oz/ 9.5 mL

“What it does:
Experience ultimate volume and the look of thick, false lashes with Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara. The lash-maximizing, curvy brush places the most volume at the hard-to-reach center lash line, and the defining tip styles lashes for major drama. The super-concentrated black pigment delivers the greatest visual impact, and the Flash Volume Complex™ creates instant, smudge-proof length and volume in three strokes or less. Velvet Noir gives you the thickest lashes in one sweep. Apply Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara on its own, or layer with O!Mega Lash Volumizing Mascara (sold separately). Pair it with Feather Noir Ultra-Skinny Lash-Discovering Mascara and Lamé Noir Ultra-Glittering Mascara (sold separately) to style your lashes for every occasion. “

Oh my, God. This mascara is amazing. Just look at those lashes!

img_2174I really love this mascara, I actually listed it as a favorite last month (November Favorites 2017 + Makeup Breakup). This is a bit on the clumpy side, which I prefer, but if you don’t just grab a lash separator or clean/disposable mascara wand. As you can see from the picture above, this adds a ton of length and volume. I also really love how this makes my bottom lashes look. This mascara is just amazing and I will repurchase. $26 dollars is on the expensive side no doubt, but I think it’s a great price for Marc Jacobs. Plus they offer a mini for $14, at it’s actually less expensive (oz./ mL wise) to buy that.

SEPHORA COLLECTION – Ultra Shine Lip Gel in 04 Perfectly Nude $12.00 USD for 0.11 oz/ 3 mL

“What it is:
A lip gloss with a light-reflecting plumped shine inspired by gel nail polishes.

What it does:
Ultra Shine Lip Gel transforms lips with a gel-effect formula for a light-reflecting, plumped shine. Its ultra-light, sensorial texture is also hydrating.”

New nude holy grail. I absolutely love this gloss. Did I mention I don’t like glosses?

The applicator on this is amazing, I feel like I get in every nook and it just makes the gloss lay well on the lips. The formula is so nice. Like most lip glosses, it isn’t long wearing, but it looks beautiful, it is not sticky, and it’s just the perfect shade of nude. I haven’t tried this with a color besides nudes, I don’t think it would look well with a red for example. But otherwise, I love it and highly recommend!

BURBERRY – My Burberry Blush $120 USD for 3.0oz/90 mL

“Fragrance Family:

Scent Type:
Fruity Florals

Key Notes:
Pomegranate, Rose, Jasmine”

Honestly, no clue what to look for in a fragrance besides longevity and a wonderful smell, but this has both! What a great review. I should put that on my resume. 😉

Anyway, that’s it for Novembers box! I have to say this has been a favorite. Fingers crossed I should be getting Decembers box Monday-Friday, so keep your eyes out for an unboxing!

      1. I’ve been to Sephora a few times while I was abroad and it was so amazing. Oh yeah, Primark is really good. Especially as they do a bit of everything! 😂
