Tutorial: Lady Gaga Grammys 2018

Hi, guys! The Grammys were on Sunday and there were so many lovely looks! My favorite without a doubt is Lady Gaga’s. Her dress was amazing, her hair was exquisite and her makeup was breathtaking.

She also did a beautiful performance of her songs ‘Joanne’ and “Million Reasons”, I think it’s a ‘must watch’ for everyone, just search it on Google/YouTube. Anyway, back to the makeup. I think it’s absolutely amazing! Gaga’s artist, Sarah Tanno, is so talented and has been doing her looks for quite some time. If you are interested in makeup at all I highly recommend following her on social media, she posts a ton of looks she does on Gaga. With that being said and as you can tell from the title, today’s post is a recreation/tutorial of the look. I am so happy with how it turned out!

Step one: Prime your eyelids. Apply a shimmery peach all over the lid, to the brow bone. Apply an iridescent highlighter to the brow bone and inner corner.

Step two: Apply black eyeliner all over the lid and wing it out. Apply the same black eyeliner to the upper and lower waterline, plus the lower lashline and the inner corner. If you have troubles with winging eyeliner the best advice I can give you is to follow the lower lash line and wing it upwards.

Step three: Using a black eyeshadow, buff the outer edges of the liner, blending slightly above the crease. Using your finger works best. Take a Q-Tip and buff the lower lash line, this will add a smokiness to the lower lash line.

Step four: Next, apply a glittery black eyeshadow over the liner. If you don’t have one, mixing a shimmery dark grey and black works well too. Fill in your brows and add mascara.  ladygagagrammys2018makeupemilyburnsmua

Step five: Add lashes of your choice. If you have trouble with applying lashes, I recommend watching this video beforehand.

Step six: Now it’s time for the glitter! This is where it can be a bit complicated but also fun. Pour a bit of a COSMETIC GRADE silver/iridescent glitter into a clean palette/plate/container. Now add a mixing medium balm to the side (a lip balm will work fine, as long as it’s not medicated, etc.). Dip into the balm, then pick up a bit of glitter. Apply the majority to the inner half of the lid and brow bone. Apply a small amount to the inner corner and inner half of the lower lash line.

I used the glitter/balm method because Gaga’s look had a good amount of shine in it and I thought it was a gloss but I couldn’t tell, so the glitter/balm was the best of both worlds. This will not make the look sticky, creasing, uncomfortable, etc. when you use a small amount of the blam, it just bonds the glitter to the eyelid.
