May Favorites and Makeup Breakup

Hi, guys! I hope you all are well and your week is off to a good start. May has come and gone, that means it’s time for favorites and my makeup breakup! May has been a pretty good month but it does seem like it’s been a very long month. The heat may be getting to me but I am excited for summer! Without further ado, here are my favorites for the month of May.

Feeling Beautiful – Freeman Dead Sea Minerals Facial Anti-Stress Mask

IMG_6865

I have been loving this mask lately. Freeman masks are really affordable and target a large range of concerns. This one is great for stress. IT clears the skin, leaves a beautiful glow and helps with texture. The best part? It makes you look like Smurfette. That’s a yay in my book. Overall this mask is really great and so relaxing.

SKINFOOD Pineapple Peeling Gel

This peeling gel is awesome! It really ‘detoxifies’, clears your skin and exfoliates well. I use it once or twice a week and it really brightens my skin. I highly recommend it if you are looking for a new exfoliator!

Mario Badescu – Facial Spray With Aloe, Herbs and Rosewater

My current bottle is nearly empty, my backup full bottle is pictured.

On the advice of the large majority of beauty bloggers, I finally tried this out. It’s amazing. It brightens your skin and gives such a ‘lit from within glow’. I love cleansing my skin then spray this then apply makeup, it gives a good amount of moisture without having makeup lay weird. It’s just an awesome product and it’s really affordable. I’ve recently turned my mom onto the spray and she loves it too.

Caudalie – Grape Water

IMG_6866

Yes, another spray. Both are great but I think I like Caudalie’s a bit more. It smells great, it is so cooling and really calms my redness while adding moisture. It’s amazing and underrated. It is a bit expensive but worth every penny. The packaging is limited edition but isn’t it so pretty?

Thayer – Witch Hazel Toner-Rose Petal

IMG_6864

I recently bought a sample of this from Target and I loved it, I need to buy the full size. It really calms my skin while adding hydration and not striping, unlike some toners. It also brightens my skin, which I like.

MAKE UP FOR EVER – Water Blend Face & Body Foundation

mufewaterblendemilyburnsmuaflower

If you know me or have read any of my posts lately, you know I’ve been obsessed with this foundation lately! It’s so easy to use and it’s just perfect. It has such a light coverage but makes your skin look amazing. I won’t go into too much detail because I recently wrote a review and I don’t want to sound like a broken record.

Essence – My Must Haves Satin Blush Single in 01 Coral Dreams.

IMG_6871

Fun fact about me, I am obsessed with blush. I think it’s the bomb.com. If a new brand comes out and I want to try something from them, I often will try their blush first. I have a lot of blush. Blush blush blush blush. I’m all about it. With that being said, you can probably guess I have a lot of favorite blushes and I do. Now let me say this, ever since I bought this blush, I’ve hardly reached for other favorites, that’s how awesome this blush is.

It doesn’t matter if I’m going for a warm-toned smokey eye or a cool toned covered in glitter look, this blush looks great with any look. It blends so effortlessly and looks amazing anytime I wear it. To say the least, I’m in LOVE with this blush. But wait, there’s more. This blush is crazy affordable. It currently retails for $1.99 USD at Ulta, plus essence goes on sale or has a special offer pretty often. I’m sold. I love it. I’m in a committed relationship with it.

The blush is on the smaller side of blushes (about the size of a single eyeshadow), I personally love that as it doesn’t take up too much room in my collection.

BLCKSHEEPSTUDIOS – GOLD FACE EARRINGS

These earrings are really unique and surprisingly lightweight. Every time I wear them I get compliments. The woman that makes these earrings is so nice too. She offers a ton of styles so make sure to check her Etsy shop out, you’ll probably see something you like. After shipping my order was around $16 USD which I think is really affordable, especially for this style.

Sheaffer – Calligraphy Mini Kit

IMG_6876

I love calligraphy and it’s really hard to find a pen that works well for it. If you find one that has a perfect nib for it, the ink probably runs out really quick. Vice versa. But this pen is really great for it and in general. The ink lasts a long time and the nib is great. It’s really affordable too! In the mini kit, you get one pen, three nibs, and four ink cartridges.

These pens are also good for calligraphy but I love them for sketching. 03 and 01 are my favorite. If you like to draw, doodle or write, I highly recommend trying these.

Maddie Poppe recently won American Idol and she is simply amazing. I’ve been loving her album “Songs From The Basement” and I think everyone should listen to Don’t Ever Let Your Children Grow Up. I highly recommend checking her out on YouTube, she’s so lovely!

Wet n Wild – Photo Focus Foundation

I bought this foundation probably 10 months ago for a first impressions post. Ever since then, I’ve just not been a fan of this foundation. I want to love it because it’s so affordable, great shade range and so many other people like it but I just don’t. It doesn’t look good on my skin and it always has weird, kind of gross texture. I just have so many other foundations that work for me better, so I’m saying goodbye to this one.

That’s it for May! Have you tried any of these? What are your favorites and makeup breakup this month? Let me know in the comments and have a great day, thanks for reading!

  1. Omg those earrings are so fun and gorgeous!😍😍😍 and that witch hazel looks like a good toner to try, is it refreshing after applying it after a shower (on you I mean)? As far as that W&W foundation, it was trash, even if it was affordable. It smelled of paint and it was crumbly. Great post! 😁👍🏽

  2. Freeman masks are awesome! I’d love to try another toner- I’ve only ever tried one and it was a mini bottle from a sub box so it’s almost gone 🙈 this earrings are super cool too!

  3. That Freeman mask unfortunately really dried out my skin. 😦 I love their mint & lemon mask though.

The Thayer’s Witch Hazel toner is my favorite! It’s the best toner I’ve used. I ran out though and need to get some more. I’ve been trying others in the process, but I just don’t like them as much as I liked the Thayer’s.

  4. I’ve been using that Thayer’s toner for the last couple of months and I think it is really nice and working quite well for me! You should definitely get the full size! I also have quite a few of those Freeman masks! I love how affordable they are!
