I like the majority of the products and the value of this box was amazing. Check out Play! by Sephora – May 2017 Unboxing if you’d like to see more infomation about Play! and my initial thoughts on these products. Without further ado, here’s the review!

THE BAG:

THE PRODUCTS:

SEPHORA COLLECTION – Mud Mask Purifying & Mattifying, $10 USD for 1.0 oz/ 30 mL (standard size).

From Sephora.com:

“What it is:
A mud mask featuring zinc and copper to cleanse and purify the skin—aka your skin’s BFF when it needs a detox.

What it does:
Made with zinc, copper, and white clay, this mud mask cleanses and purifies pores, absorbs excess sebum, and reduces the appearance of blemishes without overdrying. Skin is left clean, matte, and soft after each use.

Tip:
Use this over your entire face or as a spot treatment.”

I’ve really enjoyed using this mask! I’ve only used it twice but I know I’ll be using it more. I used to spot treat acne and it worked great. It reduced the size but did not overdry, as claimed. If you have oily skin, I think you would love this!

Bumble and bumble – Thickening Spray, $30 USD for 8 oz/ 250 mL (standard size).

From Sephora.com:

“What it is:
A setting spray that offers a moderate hold for all hair types.

What it does:
This spray lifts and holds all hair types—thin, thick, straight, or curly. Use it for blow-drying, setting, protecting from heat, adding volume, lifting, controlling, and finishing any style. Pair this must-have formula with Thickening Shampoo and Conditioner for a little more heft.”

I really dislike this product. The scent is awful. It smells like alcohol, Juicy Fruit gum and a hint of jelly beans. After using the spray, it made my scalp really itchy and irritated. Long story short, I won’t be using it again.

Benefit Cosmetics – The POREfessional Face Primer, $31.00 USD 0.75 oz/ 21 g (standard size).

From Sephora.com:

“What it does:
Quickly minimize the appearance of pores and fine lines and help makeup stay put with this priming phenomenon. The silky and lightweight formula can be worn under makeup to create a smoother-than-smooth canvas or used throughout the day to mattify shine and touch up problem areas. It’s so translucent, no one will know you’re wearing anything!

What else you need to know:
The oil-free formula contains vitamin E, which is known to protect skin from free radicals.”

This primer is pretty good, I think it’s a bit overhyped but nevertheless. It won’t minimize all of your pores but it definitely helps. I do think it’s good for mattifying. It’s definitely worth picking up a sample if you haven’t tried it yet.

Kat Von D – Tattoo Liner in Trooper – satin black, $20.00 USD for 0.19 oz/ 0.55 mL.

From Sephora.com:

“What it is:
A liquid eyeliner with an innovative brush tip for effortless, precise application.

What it does:
Achieve eye perfection with this high-pigment, waterproof liner that stays put all day for a fade-, melt-, crack-, and run-resistant finish. The superfine and flexible brush tip glides across the lashline for incredibly fluid application, allowing you to create a variety of looks with ease. Unlike traditional felt tip liners, this brush tip will not fray.

What else you need to know:
Tattoo Liner is completely free of animal-derived ingredients and is not tested on animals. The Trooper shade is an Allure Reader’s Choice award winner.”

This eyeliner is simply amazing. I hate liquid eyeliner but I love this. It’s the easiest pen I’ve ever used and the formula is very long-wearing. I highly recommend this if you like liquid eyeliner or want to start doing it more.

BECCA – Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop – soft white gold w/ pinky peach undertones, $19.00 USD for 0.085 oz/ 2.40 g (mini size).

From Sephora.com:

What it is:
An award-winning highlighting powder with an ultra-buttery texture that melts into skin for the ultimate high-impact glow.

What it does:
This enhanced lineup of BECCA’s iconic highlighter features an unparalleled shade range that caters to all skin tones.

This one-of-a-kind formula is enriched with ultra-fine, multitoned, luminescent pearls that adjust to your skin’s undertones and amplify your natural radiance. Unlike traditional pressed powders, this unique formula blends pigments with liquids, creating a creamy feel that applies seamlessly and never cakes. Inspired by the dazzling light of the midday sun, the result is a high-impact, elegant finish that doesn’t look glittery.

What it is formulated WITHOUT:
– Parabens
– Sulfates
– Phthalates”

I had high hopes for this product and I am not disappointed! This highlighter is awesome. It has the perfect undertone and it is so buildable. It can be a blinding highlight or more subtle. I’ve only used it three or so times but I really love it. I’m still blown away by the size we received. It’s so beautiful if you haven’t tried it yet you should.

Viktor & Rolf – Flowerbomb, $85.00 USD for 1 oz/ 30 mL Eau de Parfum Spray

img_6414

From Sephora.com:

“Fragrance Family:
Warm & Spicy

Scent Type:
Warm & Sweet Gourmands

Key Notes:
Jasmine, Orange Blossom, Patchouli

About:
An explosion of flowers, Flowerbomb opens with subtle traces of bergamot and mandarin, leading to a heart of an exquisite floral explosion, comprised of sambac jasmine, freesia, centifolia rose, and osmanthus. Deep amber, woody, and patchouli notes combine with warm vanilla and praline notes to complete a truly addictive fragrance. Wear it for a night out on the town with the girls, a romantic dinner, a spontaneous adventure with no definite destination. Flowerbomb ensures you’ll leave a trail of allure wherever you go.”

Not my favorite scent they have sent us. It’s a bit heavy for my preferences.
