Hi, guys! Today we are talking all about makeup favorites, and what I would pick if I could only have one foundation, eyeshadow palette, etc. I was nominated by SUPERNOVABEAUTY, click here to view her post. Thank you, Nova!! I really love the idea of this tag and I’m excited to be doing it. Without further ado, here are my picks.
I love all of these items, I recommend all of them, and they are all items I would or do have in my pro makeup kit.
Primer: Urban Decay – Optical Illusion
This primer is awesome, it’s kind of like an all in one primer. It adds longevity to your makeup, fills pores a bit, adds a slight tint of coverage, and it helps with fine lines. It covers all the bases. It gives a natural finish, neither dewy or matte.
Honorable Mention: BECCA – Backlight Filter Face Primer – I love this primer. It adds a beautiful dew but it never looks greasy.
Foundation: Make Up For Ever – Water Blend in Y245
I’ve picked this foundation because it suits every look and it’s so nice to use. It’s a light-medium coverage with a natural to dewy finish. This isn’t a full coverage foundation but it really perfects my skin and my skin loves it.
Review: Make Up For Ever – Water Blend Foundation Review
Honorable Mention: L’Oréal – Infallible Pro-Matte 24HR Foundation I considered this foundation because it is equally as lovely, for different reasons. It stays on all day, matte but not drying, medium to full coverage, it’s awesome. The main reason this wasn’t ‘my only’ is because I haven’t used it in about 9 months or so, but I plan to pick it up soon and have the same experience.
Concealer: Catrice – Liquid Camouflage Concealer in 005
I really like this concealer. I feel like it provides a good, nearly full amount of coverage and it doesn’t crease when I set it with a powder. It’s not drying on the under eyes. It also works great for an eyeshadow primer.
Setting Powder: Maybelline – Fit Me Loose Finishing Powder in Fair Light
Funnily enough, I actually bought this because Nova recommended it. It’s a really awesome loose powder, it sets makeup great and really reduces fine lines and creasing.
Honorable Mention: IT Cosmetics – Bye Bye Pores Pressed™ Poreless Finish Airbrush Pressed Powder. This powder is so good for setting and blurring pores, plus it works great for setting the under eye area.
Setting Spray: Urban Decay – All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray
Want makeup that lasts all day long? This is your best friend. It locks in my makeup all day and makes it practically hot, humid weatherproof. I love it. If it came with SPF, I would probably try to marry it.
Bronzer: Physicians Formula – Butter Bronzer Murumuru Butter Bronzer in Bronzer
This bronzer is very new to my collection, I got it around a month ago but I really love it and prefer it to other bronzers I’ve used. It has just the right amount of pigment, is so blendable, buildable, very long wearing and it smells great.
Blush: Essence – My Must Haves Satin Blush Single in 01 Coral Dreams
I love blush, I’m obsessed with it, but this is hands down my favorite. It compliments any look from a black smokey eye to natural every day, no makeup-makeup. It is so beautiful and has the most perfect pink undertone. And it’s only $1.99! If you see this in-store or online, I highly recommend picking it up.
Honorable Mention: tarte – Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush. My favorite formula for blushes.
Highlighter: BECCA – Shimmering Skin Perfector® Pressed Highlighter in Champagne Pop
I only received this highlighter a few weeks ago but it has become my favorite. It’s so buildable, creamy and it just has the perfect undertone. You can be blinding or natural with this highlighter, which I love.
Honorable Mention: Makeup Revolution – SophX Highlighter Palette. This palette is less inexpensive and it has 8 shades, perfect for nearly any skin tone. It’s a close second.
Eyeshadow Palette: BH Cosmetics – Zodiac 25 Color Eyeshadow & Highlighter Palette
If you know me or have followed my blog for awhile, you know I’m obsessed with this and you probably aren’t surprised to see it as ‘my only’. It’s just an awesome palette. The shimmery shadows are so buttery and metallic, I prefer them to glitter. I don’t want to sound like a broken record so if you interested in learning more about this palette click on the review below.
Review: BH Cosmetics Zodiac Palette Review
Honorable mention: Morphe – 35O2 Second Nature Eyeshadow Palette. So blendable, so good. Worth the hype.
Liquid Eyeshadow: Single Eyeshadow: Make-Up Designory – Eye Color Refill
Shades: Honeysuckle, Apricot, Taupe, and Espresso.
Disclaimer: I won this palette in a giveaway. My opinion has not been affected by winning the item. These are my honest thoughts.
I really don’t wear liquid eyeshadows, so I’ve decided to talk about single eyeshadows. These Make-Up Designory eyeshadows are some of the best I’ve ever tried. I’ve never heard anyone talk about them before and I have no idea why they are so good. They blend so easily, it’s effortless. I could blend them in my sleep. They last all day. These eyeshadows would be really great for a beginner or a pro. The only ‘con’ I can find in these eyeshadows is that they are $8 USD ea, but they are more than worth it.
Liquid eyeliner: Kat Von D – Tattoo Liner in Trooper
I’m not a huge liquid eyeliner person, but when I want to add liquid eyeliner to a look I reach for this. It’s so easy, it lasts all day, very black and it takes a long time to run out of the liquid.
Pencil Eyeliner: Marc Jacobs Beauty – Highliner Matte Gel Eye Crayon Eyeliner in (Earth)quake 41
Marc Jacobs eyeliners are my favorite because they are so creamy and pigmented. I love this eyeliner for the waterline. It does fade (on the waterline) throughout the day but it lasts longer than most eyeliners do on me. This shade is such a pretty shade of brown too.
Mascara: Marc Jacobs Beauty – Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara
This mascara is so good. It adds a ton of length and volume. It has a formula that is more on the dry side, which I prefer. It is expensive but I think it’s worth it.
Honorable mentions: Maybelline – Total Temptation Mascara is very similar to Velvet Noir. It’s a bit more wet but very similar and less expensive. tarte – Lights, Camera, Lashes™ 4-in-1 Mascara is also a favorite, my lashes love the formula, it pretty much does everything you want a mascara to do.
Brow Product: Essence – Make Me Brow Eyebrow Gel Mascara in 02
This brow gel is so good. It keeps your brows in place all day, makes them look fuller and tints them. 02 is a bit dark for me, I’m nearly out of it so I’ll pick up 03 next (higher number but a lighter shade).
Lip Product: tarte – Color Splash Lipstick – Rainforest of the Sea™ Collection in Set Sail
To me, this shade is perfection. It’s similar to Lolita from Kat Von D but a bit pinker. It’s just the perfect pinky, dark nude. The formula is satin but hydrating and stays in place at the same time.
Honorable Mention: Anastasia Beverly Hills – Lip Gloss in Kristen. This gloss looks great with every look, from full glam to not a stitch of makeup. If you haven’t tried it yet you are missing out.
I nominate:

I love mascaras on the drier side, they just seem to hold my lashes up that much better and don’t smudge everywhere. Great collection here! xx
