Makeup Look: Black Smoky Eye – Inspired by Kevyn Aucoin

Life is too short to spend hoping that the perfectly arched eyebrow or hottest new lip shade will mask an ugly heart. – Kevyn Aucoin

Hi, guys and welcome to the blog! Today’s post is a makeup look inspired by Kevyn Aucoin. If you don’t know who Kevyn Aucoin is, he was an American make-up artist, photographer, and author. He has 3 books and created his brand Kevyn Aucoin Beauty. If you’d like to know more about Kevyn, click here to be redirected. If you have any interest in makeup at all, I highly recommend buying one of his books, watching his recent documentary or watching old interviews on YouTube.

The look I’m doing today is one of my favorites he did, on Julia Roberts (see below). This look is simply inspired by, it’s not a direct recreation as I did not bleach my brows, I also went for a darker nude lipstick and more blush. Altogether, I completely love this look and plan to recreate it many, many more times.
